A winding path through well tended tropical gardens spotted with orchids leads you to your suite or room and then on to the restaurant, bar, beach and Caribbean Sea. There is a free shuttle twice daily to the sister resort Idle Awhile The Cliffs, if you'd like to spend the day exploring the West End or visiting the Idle Awhile The Cliffs resort. At the resort you can jump off the cliffs into the sea, swim in the pool and stay for a drink and lunch, if you fancy a change of scenery. Guests receive complimentary access to Negril's famous sports complex at Couples Swept Away Resort, where you can also book Spa treatments.

Negril is around 90 minutes drive from Sangster International Airport, in Montego Bay.

Guests of The Beach enjoy complimentary access to ten-acre Sports Complex at Couples Swept Away. Located just minutes from The Beach, this exceptional facility features a fully equipped gym with cardio and weight training equipment, a 25 metre lap pool, tennis, squash and racquetball courts and much more. Guests must be 18 years or older to access this facility.

Restaurants & Bars

At Chill Awhile, the beach restaurant, guests can delight in international cuisine with authentic Caribbean flavours at fair prices with excellent service. Jamaica's renowned herbs and spices fiery Scotch bonnet pepper, pimento, nutmeg, ginger, tamarind and sweet coconut are added to dishes made with fresh seasonal produce and local seafood.

Sitting under the canopy is great for breakfast. There is freshly squeezed Orange Juice and of course, freshly brewed Blue Mountain coffee. Try the traditional Jamaican breakfast of Ackee and Salt Fish - or your favourite eggs with crisp bacon. Other options include banana or cinnamon pancakes and fresh seasonal fruit.

At lunch you'll find standard American-style fare alongside local dishes. Try the daily specials or grab a cheeseburger or Jerk Chicken sandwich without having to leave the beach!

Many guests from other hotels and resorts in Negril come to dine at Chill Awhile in the evening. On offer for dinner there are salads, steaks, soups and stews and fantastic fish and seafood options. All freshly cooked and beautifully presented. The Shrimp Rundown and the Spicy Pumpkin soup are tried and tested favourites amongst the guests.

The excellent location of the resort means there are lots of other restaurants and cafes within walking distance, as well as those up on the Cliffs in the West End. The reception staff will be happy to help with reservations and transportation if you wish to try out other Negril eateries.
